Quick start guide for getting started with the ACE platform.

Quick Start Guide

This guide will help you get started with the ACE platform as an administrator. It covers the initial setup and basic configuration steps required to start using ACE effectively.

Creating a new Administrator Account

To create a new administrator account, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Admin section in the ACE platform, accessible from the sidebar. /admin
  2. Click on Manage users.
  3. Click on Create User.
  4. Fill in the required details such as username, email, and password.
  5. Assign the appropriate roles and permissions for the new administrator.
  6. Click Save to create the account.

The new administrator account will now be available for managing the ACE platform. It is recommended that the administrator log in with this account and delete the default one. From this page, one can also create and manage other user accounts, including changing their passwords and roles.

Creating an Environment

ACE captures all relevant information in containers called Environments. Scans are ingested to these containers, allowing for organized management of specific projects. To create an environment, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Environments section in the ACE platform, accessible from the sidebar. /environments
  2. Click on Create Environment.
  3. Fill in the required details such as environment name, type, description, and parent (optional).
  4. Click Create to create the environment.

Now that this environment is created, there is a place to organize data. But without a license key, one cannot enter any scans into the environment.

Entering the License Key

ACE will not ingest scans without a valid license key, and it is through scan ingestion that the platform collects and organizes data for analysis. To enter the license key, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Admin section in the ACE platform, accessible from the sidebar. /admin
  2. Click on System Settings.
  3. Paste or type in your license key in the License Settings.
  4. Click Save to apply the license key.

Next Steps

After entering the license key, you can start ingesting scans into the environment you created. One can either upload tool scans manually or configure automated scan ingestion from an AWS S3 Bucket.

Check the User guides for more detailed information on Environments, Assets, Compliance Checks, and Mitigations, which compromise the ACE platform workflow.
